CHANGE GEAR ASSEMBLY FOR LATHE- COMPLETE
A COMPLETE ASSEMBLY TO ADD A FULL CHANGE GEAR SET TO YOUR DIY OR RESTORATION LATHE.
This is a completely engineered change gear assembly for a lathe, requiring only locating the mounting points for the 2 gear support shafts in relationship to your output shaft from your spindle. A gear is included to attach to your output shaft. There is also a sliding gear to attach to your lead screw so the gear train can be engaged and disengaged by a lever or shift fork of your design. The assembly is mounted on a swivel plate that has a slot which allows the gears to swing in order to mesh with the primary gear of different sizes, and the secondary gear set is mounted on a shaft which moves in a slot to allow different sizes of gears to be assembled. The change gear train has 4 module 1 gears which have the 4 spline center hole for fast changing, while the fixed gear train uses module 1.5 gears, so that there in never any confusion as to what gears are the ones to change out. The set of module 1 change gears included are 39, 42, 57 and 60 tooth which offer a wide variety of threading and feed rates. Please see our other category # 05-04 for a large variety of other gears which are available.
PLEASE NOTE: These are New Old Stock which have been in storage, so the original preservative is a bit gummy and the assembly will need cleaning with mineral spirits and lubricated with fine gear oil for smooth operation.
This assembly would take months to design and perfect on your own and cost hundreds to source all the parts individually
